Situated next door to the owners family-run real ale pub in the village of Meltham which lies 4.5 miles south-west of Huddersfield on the edge of the Peak District National Park. There are miles of public footpaths to suit every ability and interest and the quiet country lanes are ideal for cyclists. Also two miles from Slaithwaite is Marsden Moor where there are numerous walks including parts of the Pennine Way. Indulge in some local produce shopping and visit the farm shops at Bolster Moor or Netherton with their field-to-fork restaurants. Meltham itself offers a local supermarket Chinese takeaway three pubs a post office a sports club and an 18-hole golf course. The small towns of Holmfirth Slaithwaite and Marsden are most attractive and have local shops and tearooms. Travelling on foot to the area is no problem either with the station just 2 miles away with lines to Leeds and Manchester.
