Reivers Rest cottage Northumbria

Reiver`s Rest is a quality cottage in the grounds of Hesleyside Hall, near Bellingham in Northumberland. The cottage has a bedroom which can be offered as a super king-size double or a twin, a double room and a twin room. There is a family bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Downstairs, there is a well equipped kitchen with breakfast area, and a sitting room with open fire and large dining area. Outside, there is a private front patio, and access to the estates grounds including woodland walks. Fishing and tours of the hall can be offered by prior arrangement with the owners. Reiver`s Rest makes a very welcoming base for a rural stay in grand surroundings.

Bellingham is surrounded by the Northumberland National Park, is part of the Pennine Way and is near to Kielder Water, all of which makes it a walkers` paradise and a well-located base from which to see the rest of the region. Bellingham is the unofficial capital of the North Tyne Valley and is supposed to be built on the site of an old Roman station. It is extremely picturesque, comprising of a number of natural stone houses and there is much to see in the village itself, such as its 12th century church, the Heritage Centre and a cascading waterfall, which is just a short walk away. Nearby, other attractions include the Northumberland National Park, Hadrian`s Wall and Kielder Forest and Water. There are plenty of walks to be had in the region, as well as a host of outdoor activities, such as horse-riding, fishing and canoeing.
