The Stables cottage South of England

The Stables is a fabulous holiday home set in the grounds of Upnor Castle House, in Upper Upnor, near Rochester, and can sleep four people. There is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room. Outside there is off road parking for two cars, a private patio and lawn area with furniture, shared use of the owner`s extensive grounds, plus seasonal use of a tennis court, croquet lawn and swimming pool (available May-Sep) by arrangement. The Stables is a wonderful holiday base.

Upper Upnor is a lovely village, with steep, cobbled streets and set on the banks of the River Medway. This is the ideal setting for enjoying an evening riverside stroll, taking in the sites of the boats and ships passing by. Following this, why not stop into one of the two pubs for a refreshing drink? Rochester is also nearby and is well worth visiting, with its impressive castle. Being the birthplace of Charles Dickens, Rochester celebrates Dickens` Week each year, where you will see costume parades and street markets.
