Windermere cottage The Lake District and Cumbria
Windermere is a charming, all-ground-floor property in the village of Near Sawrey, near Hawkshead. The property has two bedrooms; a king-size double and a twin, sleeping four guests. The cottage also consist of a family bathroom with walk-in shower and an open-plan living room with kitchen, dining and sitting room with woodburning stove. Outside there is parking in the shared courtyard for two cars, as well as a small, enclosed patio with furniture at the rear. Windermere is a great base for exploring the Lake District National Park.
The village of Sawrey is two miles from Hawkshead on the eastern side of Esthwaite Water. Sawrey consists of two separate hamlets - Near Sawrey and Far Sawrey - Near Sawrey is famous for Hill Top, the farmhouse where author Beatrix Potter wrote many of her books and now a museum owned by the National Trust. Far Sawrey is close to the ferry point on Windermere and has good walks nearby, including Claife Heights and in Grizedale Forest. It`s also a great base for enjoying watersports, fishing and fell walking.
