This delightful old mill cottage sits beside The Dulas Brook which rises up above Hay-on-Wye in The Black Mountains. Hay-on-Wye has craft shops a range of eateries to suit all tastes and a weekly market. Enjoy paddling at The Warren the local beach or hire a kayak further down the river at Glasbury. For walkers and cyclists head to the Brecon Beacons National Park for plenty of walks and places to explore by bike whilst the Wye Valley has canoeing shooting river and lake fishing. Visit one of the many National Trust properties Hergest Croft Gardens Croft Castle or Berrington Hall. There are a wealth of attractions including the Monmouth and Brecon Canal South Wales Borderers Museum and Abergavenny Castle and Museum. Superbly renovated with great style and flair the 18th-century character of the property has been faithfully retained making this cottage an intriguing place to stay. Numerous interesting photographs pictures painting and prints are dotted throughout the cottage complemented by attractive furniture and fabrics. The kitchen at the back of the cottage has an integrated electric double oven cooker and microwave dishwasher fridge freezer as well as a lovely oil Rayburn ensuring the kitchen and dining room are always warm. The original flagstone floors are intact but with the benefit of underfloor heating. The utility room has a second under the counter freezer washing machine and dryer a sink and ample storage. Make mealtimes a family affair and gather in the dining room kept cosy by the warmth from the wood burner. The living room has ample sofas and chairs plus a wood burner making itthe perfect spot to watch a film together. Up the oak stairs there are four bedrooms. The king-size master bedroom has high ceilings exposed beams and a TV whilst a further double also with TV twin and single complete the bedrooms. One bathroom has a shower over the bath whilst the other has a bath with a shower attachment. There is a small but sunny private enclosed patio area to the rear of the cottage just perfect for a quiet coffee in the morning whilst at the front there is an attractive garden with a lawn ideal for making the most of the sunny days. There is ample private parking and a shop pub restaurant 1.5 miles away.
