Bank Cottage cottage The Lake District and Cumbria
Bank Cottage is a lovely mid-terrace cottage situated in the market town of Alston just twenty miles from Penrith in the North Pennines. The cottage can sleep four people in one king-size double and one twin bedroom with family shower room. Also in the cottage is a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with wood burning stove and balcony. Outside there is roadside parking and a balcony with furniture to enjoy. Bank Cottage is a lovely cottage to use as a base for exploring this lovely part of the country.
Alston is set in the North Pennines in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surrounded by a unique landscape of moorland, hills, rivers and waterfalls, and is England`s highest market town. This intriguing town, with its cobbled streets and fascinating nooks and crannies, was the location for ITV`s productions of Jane Eyre and Oliver Twist. Alston and the North Pennines have long inspired artists and writers; the poet and writer W H Auden loved the area and today Alston is an inspiration to the craftspeople who live and work there.
