The Isle of St Agnes is perfect for people who like to escape from modern life. This is truly one of the last wildernesses in the British Isles, and its miles and miles of open space make it both child friendly and dog friendly. Only a mile across, the stunning waters of St Agnes are perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving. Walkers will be in their element, as there are plenty of public paths on which to explore the tiny island on foot. A great place to take the kids is Beady Pool - a rock pool where people can search for precious beads from an ancient shipwreck. Much of the island is protected by the Scilly Wildlife Trust, as it is home to rare species of butterflies, birds and flowers. Life on the island is very basic, but some people love it that way. There is a local pub, a general store and two cafes. Accommodation options are simple, but they are extremely comfortable. Visitors will have a selection of cottages, chalets and a campsite to choose from.
