Dartmoor has everything to offer, from their five incredible areas of natural interest, including the Dartmoor National Park, which boasts an astounding 368 square miles to discover and enjoy. In this vast expanse of nature, there are many wonders to be found, some man-made and some not, like the Dartmoor Prison Museum or the huge naturally formed granite edifice called Haytor.
South Devon is comprised of beaches which are equally beautiful when compared to those in the north of the county, they are just as popular for a family holiday and are ideal locations for walking and cycling, whilst also being near Exeter and Plymouth - two of the most culturally important cities in far South West of England.
Exeter has a wealth of historical and cultural interests. One just has to follow the cobblestone under one's feet to find yourself amongst many diverse high street and independent shops and boutiques. It is also placed near enough to the sea, so that you can enjoy an evening meal next to the beach and relax after an enjoyable shopping spree. Plymouth is even more culturally important, being the location where Sir Francis Drake famously played his game of Bowls, before setting out to defeat the Spanish armada. You could always visit the Mayflower Steps which is believed to be the location from where the Pilgrim Fathers set off on their journey in 1620 aboard the Mayflower to begin a new life in America, Plymouth also boasts a great amount of fabulous theatre, art galleries and live music.
